Plant-based Baby Products
After the first 6 months of consuming only breast or formula milk, your baby can start to enjoy more solid foods. When this shift happens, you might make the healthy decision to keep them on a plant-based diet.
It’s becoming more and more common for parents to raise their kids as vegans. For some, it’s about the health benefits. For others, it’s due to ethical or environmental concerns. Whatever the reason, it’s easier than ever, and we want to support you in making the right decisions. Great first foods for vegan babies include vegetables, potatoes, oatmeal, quinoa, beans, lentils, tofu, and fruits. Foods like peas, beans, tofu, and seed butter will make sure they get enough protein.
These can all be mashed easily and provide lots of natural taste and texture. But you don’t need to do all the work yourself! We’ve brought together a range of brilliant vegan baby products to satisfy their hunger.
Is it Healthy for a Baby to be Vegan?
We’ve come a long way since the days of it being controversial to raise a child as a vegan. Many studies and reports have in fact now shown that it can be an amazingly healthy diet for kids as long as you make sure they are receiving enough of the right nutrients.

Try some of our plant-based baby products and see how much your little ones love these wholesome goodies. Vegan baby products are the way of the future, and we’re here to spread the joy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will my vegan child get enough protein?
It’s incredibly easy to make sure your vegan child receives enough protein in their diet. Ingredients like beans, peas, tofu, lentils, and chickpeas are all bursting with healthy protein and will make sure your little ones are getting enough of it. We have plenty of plant-based baby products that are packed full of protein. Check out the information on a product's page to find out more.
Are there any risks involved with raising a child vegan?
Your baby or child will still need to get all the right nutrients from their diet if you’re raising them vegan. Special attention should be given to ensure that they are receiving enough iron, vitamin B12, calcium, and vitamin D.
Supplements are often given to babies in their first year, whether they’re vegan or not. Many parents raising their babies as vegans opt to breastfeed for longer, to supplement a plant-free diet. If in doubt, please consult a pediatrician or nutritionist for advice.
Is veganism healthier than eating meat?
Many families who raise their baby on a vegan diet will choose to breastfeed, if possible, for at least the first 6 months. Most baby formulas contain animal-derived ingredients, including vitamin D sourced from sheep’s wool (lanolin). Soy formulas are not suitable for babies under 6 months. On rare occasions, it might be possible to use vegan baby formula, but only under strict medical supervision. Currently, there are only two brands that make vegan baby milk formulas: Prémiriz and Bébé M.
After 6 months, babies can have their milk diet complemented with solid foods. At this time, milk alternatives may be used in cooking (such as mashed potatoes), but not as their main milk intake. Always consult a medical professional if you are unsure about what natural baby products are for you.
