Hot Chocolate Bombs (Vegan)
Get cozy with a warm hot chocolate bomb that’s simple, sweet, and easy to make. All you need are a few simple ingredients and your preferred silicon mold. You can find sphere silicone molds or diamond heart silicone molds online are at your favorite retailers. Simply melt your chocolate, coat your mold, and fill the insides with your favorite cocoa powder, matcha, marshmallows, sprinkles, or other goodies for an adorable treat that also makes a great goodie bag stuffer.
Melt your chocolate slowly by either double boiling, or melting in 30 second intervals in the microwave.
Slowly pour a small amount of chocolate into your mold and coat the side evenly with either a small brush or spoon. You will want to make sure that you get a nice thick coat so that your hot chocolate bomb doesn't crack too easily. If you feel like your first coat is too thin, you can give it another coat of chocolate after placing your chocolate mold in the first or freezer for 10 minutes to chill.
Pop your chocolate from the silicone molds. Take each half of your chocolate sphere and melt the edges on a warm pan to get an even edge. You can also use the warmth from your fingers.
Take one half of your chocolate sphere and place 1 tsp of cocoa powder, and 1 tbsp of coconut sugar inside. You can also add a few miniature marshmallow too! We love to use Dandies Vegan Mini Marshmallows.
Warm the other half of your chocolate mold so that you get a clean edge that is somewhat melted and place onto the filled half of your chocolate bomb. Press together gentle and place in the freezer to set. You can also place your chocolate bombs in the fridge if you're not in a hurry.
When you're ready to serve, place the chocolate bomb into a mug of hot non-dairy/plant-based milk and watch as your bomb slowly melts and opens up to reveal the chocolatey marshmallow treats inside. Stir, and enjoy!
