The plump, luscious Shiraz (Syrah) grape is a favorite among the New World wine varietals as it loves hot weather and produces voluptuous, smooth wines, rich with blackberry and plum. Stellar’s Really Ravishing Red is a superb example. This mellow wine has a rich, intense hue, but is actually a lighter, more approachable red blend than it first appears. Expect fruit-forward flavors of blackberry, blueberry, and plum, with a subtle edge of peppery spice and smokiness. The body is medium, pliant, and smooth, with lots of warm sweetness.
