Frey’s 2019 Chardonnay is fermented naturally in stainless steel, and exposed to French oak staves, giving it some subtle and delicate oaky nuances which are never overpowering. It is an appealing yellow straw color and offers aromas of banana, sweet cream, and crisp fallen leaves. The light body is dry yet fruity, with a crisp, pliable mouthfeel and a lightly effervescent quality. On the palate, expect warm notes of apple and pear, rounded off with some creamy caramel and a tangy hint of yogurt. This is a vibrant, focused Chardonnay with plenty of finesse; a refined and lively quaffer for any occasion.
Founded in 1980, Frey was the first organic winery in the US. Now, more than 40 years later, they remain at the vanguard of sustainable winemaking, using organic growing techniques that enrich the soil and promote biodiversity, as well as minimally invasive wine processing methods. Their delicious 2019 Chardonnay is naturally fermented and free from synthetic sulfites or other additives.
