Frequently Asked Questions
What does hypoallergenic mean and how does Ecos test for it?
The prefix “hypo” means “low” which means hypo-allergenic products have a low chance of causing an allergic reaction. Ecos verifies this by performing a repeat insult patch test, commonly called RIPT, in which people are exposed to its products repeatedly and monitored to ensure no reactions or irritations.
Results are then reviewed and approved by dermatologists. Everyone is different though, so even though Ecos hypoallergenic products are unlikely to cause an allergic reaction, it is always possible for some individuals to have a reaction.
