Plant-Based Chocolate Banana Bread Recipe
- Category: Lunch
- Prep Time: 1 hour
- Servings: 6
Here’s what you need:
Main Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cup wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ½ cup cacao powder
- 2 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 big ripe bananas
- ½ cup plant based milk: Minor Figures Oat Milk
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/4 cup Good Good Maple Sweet Like Syrup (depending on how sweet you like it)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Lily's Dark Chocolate Baking Chips
- Optional Toppings:
- Peanut Butter: Probar Organic Peanut Butter
- Frosting: Miss Jones Chocolate Frosting
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease a rectangle baking pan (about 10 inches long) and put the baking paper in there (the oil makes it stick better).
Mix the flour, oil, corn starch, baking powder, soda, syrup, sugar, vanilla extract, cacao, salt and plant-based milk together in a bowl.
- Smash the bananas and put them in the bowl together with the other ingredients and blend.
- Fill the prepared baking pan with the dough and add some chocolate chips to the top.
- Bake the banana bread for around 40 to 50 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out without any dough sticking on it. (If you want a softer banana bread don't bake it for too long!)
- Let the cake cool down and take it carefully out of the baking pan together with the baking paper.
- Cut the chocolate banana bread into slices and enjoy!
- Optional
- Spread peanut butter or chocolate frosting on top for extra deliciousness.
