Urcohuasi Farm is a family-run organic farm set in the Ecuadorian Andes, growing the best quality Quinoa for your plateful. Situated 3000m from the Cayambe Volcano, growing the Quinoa in this location requires far less water than in other climates. Serving excellently as a pasta or rice alternative, use Urcohuasi Farms Organic Quinoa to make fresh and tasty salads, soups or burger patties. To cook the grain, we recommend you use twice as much water as Quinoa and cook uncovered until all the water has been absorbed. Then, remove your saucepan from the heat and cover to let the Quinoa steam for 5 minutes. You could also use vegetable or chicken stock in place of water to enrich the quinoa with extra flavor.

frequently Asked Questions

What are essential amino acids?

Amino acids are the components, or “building blocks” of protein and they are needed for vital processes in the body. Our clever bodies can synthesize some amino acids themselves, without the input of amino acids in food. However, some amino acids cannot be made in the body and have to come from the diet. These are called essential amino acids.
