Product Overview

Originating from Chile’s Central Valley, this sustainably produced, organic wine is one of the best of the Peaks & Valleys selection. Its name comes from the French word for crimson, which refers to its gorgeous purplish-red color.

For a long time, this grape was confused for the Merlot variety due to its similarity in taste. But, a study in 1998 that looked at the DNA of grapes showed that this variety is part of the Cabernet family and which is now largely specific to Chile.

The Central Valley now grows more than 8,800 hectares of the grape following the growing increase in the popularity of this wine. Its intensely fruity, earthy, and smokey aroma has tones of redcurrant and plum that will titillate your senses and complement any spicy dish. Rich in ripe and smooth tannins, this medium-bodied wine has a good density and offers a perfectly pleasurable and persistent finish. Professional sommeliers also recommend drinking this wine young due to its bold and sharp flavors.
