Product Overview

Available at only a few outlets in the USA, Inkarri’s 2018 Bonarda is an organic and biodynamic red wine with a deep garnet color and smoky cherry and pickled garlic aromas. It is dryish, with black plums, raspberries, and tomato on the palate. Medium-bodied, chewy, with high acidity, it surprises with satisfying peppery accents.

This Bonardo finishes silky with notes of cedar, cherry, and some underlying minerality. Serve at 65-70ºF with hearty Italian fare. This is a versatile wine - mushroom plant-based pizza or a vegetable lasagna topped with vegan cheese would both go down a treat!

100% Charbono (Bonarda)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the story behind the Bonarda grape and Inkarri’s organic and biodynamic farming?

The Bonarda grape is originally Italian, hailing from the northern provinces of Lombardy and Piedmont. Although under-appreciated in Europe today, in Argentina this grape produces dramatic, intensely colored, and flavored wine, with good acidity and soft tannins. Grown organically and biodynamically in the western foothills of the Andes, the Bonarda grapes in Inkarri’s 2018 Bonarda are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This sustains the land for future generations and means that the grapes express the authentic character of their Argentinian terroir. The desert-like climate consisting of warm, sunny days and cool nights, extends the ripening period, producing complex, fruit-forward, well-balanced, and full-bodied wines.
