The top of South Island is New Zealand’s flagship Sauvignon Blanc region. Greenhough’s organic 2019 River Garden Sauvignon Blanc reflects the style of this iconic terroir with its vibrant, ‘crunchy’ character and crisp aroma. It opens with fresh fragrances of green citrus leaves, delicate lime, and garden herbs. On the palate, these are joined by bright tropical fruits, pear, nectarine, with a delicate pinch of oak. This is a medium-bodied, dry white wine with a streak of juicy acidity which provides mouthwatering freshness. The finish is rounded with some lingering hints of sweet tangerine.
Chill this wild-fermented, elegant organic wine to around 50–55°F (2 hours in the refrigerator or 30 mins in an ice bath). Bring out on warm evenings for al fresco dinners or lunchtime garden picnics with friends. This is a crisp, refreshing wine that will evoke the sparkling turquoise sea and plush, green valleys of New Zealand’s renowned viticultural landscape.
100% Sauvignon Blanc. Contains Sulfites.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I serve the Greenhough 2019 River Garden Sauvignon Blanc with?
Serve this crisp, refreshing wine with your favorite Asian-inspired dishes. We suggest vegan sushi stuffed with avocado, yellow radish, and plenty of pickled ginger, or crisp vegetable tempura. You could also pair it with spicy, zesty Thai salads with fresh mango, green papaya, and lots of lime juice, fresh herbs, and green chilies. If you’d like to take an alternative route, serve with big, leafy salads or steamed green veggies with plenty of garden herbs to reflect those botanical nuances.
