Bodegas Iranzo produces the oldest estate bottled wines in all of Spain, with written evidence of viticulture taking place on their estate since 1335. Their 2016 Azul de Bobal is certified organic and naturally fermented, celebrating this unique, ancient terroir. This bold red is rich dark violet in color, with gutsy aromas and flavors of jammy black fruits, black licorice, cedar, clove, and smoky tobacco, with some clean nuances of slate minerality. It has a well-balanced structure with integrated tannins and a silky medium-to-full body. The medium-length finish is velvety and delightful, with a good bite and some hints of oak.
Bodegas Iranzo’s 2016 Azul de Bobal is a rich, adventurous red with pleasing, toasty notes of tobacco. It is the perfect choice for dinner parties in need of an infusion of Valencian allure. Decant and aerate before serving to allow the complex flavors to reach full expression, and choose large, wide-mouthed glasses to best experience that aromatic intensity.
100% Bobal. No Sulfites Added.
