Product Overview

Inspired by the popular pork-based dish hailing from Yucatán, Asante has created a Plant-Based Cochinita Pibil for everyone to enjoy.

Made in Mexico, the delicious meat-free filets are made from wheat gluten and pea protein for a realistic texture and taste that is hardly distinguishable from the real thing. The filets are accompanied by a rich sauce made from tomatoes, onions, annatto seeds, orange juice, apple cider vinegar, lime juice, salt, and a combination of aromatic spices.

One pack contains an amazing 48g of protein, so you can rest assured you’re getting great nutrition as well as fantastic flavor when enjoying this Plant-Based Cochinita Pibil.

This wonderful creation can be enjoyed in tacos, tostadas, enchiladas, salads, noodles, or rice. It’s versatile AND delicious.

This Cochinita Pibil comes fully cooked and ready to eat, but we recommend serving it warm for the ultimate experience. Heat in a saucepan over a medium heat for 2 minutes or microwave on a high power for 45-60 seconds. Then serve as you please and enjoy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Cochinita Pibil?

Cochinita Pibil is a traditional dish native to Mérida, Yucatán. It is traditionally prepared by slow-roasting vegan pork and marinating it in an acid citrus juice with annatto seed which gives it a distinct orange color. Asante has blessed us with a vegan twist on this classic by using plant-based meat filets made from wheat gluten and pea protein.
