Produced in organic vineyards in Catalonia, Albet i Noya’s 2015 "La Milana" Red Blend is a full-bodied, velvety red. This award-winning wine delivers powerful aromas of fresh dark and red fruits across a backdrop of creamy oak. Barrel-aged in French oak for 18 months, expect to taste notes of rich cacao, smoky vanilla, tobacco, and balsamico. Delightfully complex, in the mouth it is fruity, fresh, and full-bodied with well-balanced acidity.
This soft, ripe red will continue to age gracefully for up to 8 years. "La Milana" is made from the Spanish crus Caladoc, Ull de llebre, and Merlot, from the organic vines Albet i Noya keep at Can Milà de la Roca, in Lavern, Barcelona. It is named after the wife of the farmer, Mr. Mila, who was known affectionately as "La Milana". Serve this rich, intense red at dinner parties and deliver some Mediterranean magic to the occasion.
