I’m newly vegan, and wondering where I can get more protein from. I have been eating a lot of nuts, but I feel that is not the best source. Would love to hear suggestions on other ways I can get protein.

Plant-based refers only to diet. Veganism is not simply a definition of a diet, but a way of living. “The word ‘veganism’ denotes a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude — as far as is possible and practicable — all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.” – Vegan Society of the UK definition of veganism.

There is great confusion around this and many people call themselves ‘vegan’ while they’re only eating plant-based.
