One does feel fully satisfied after eating plant-based food items. In my opinion, it appears that your stomach not feeling full has to do with the food items you eat. I feel it is a misconception that you always feel somewhat hungry or that your foods are not filling. You could sometimes feel not full after a regular meal when on any diet. Having said that, following a strictly plant-based diet does not mean that you have to settle for meals that are not satisfying. In my opinion, you must include more whole grains and extra fiber in your vegetarian meals to feel much more full.
As far as I know, the fiber content of whole-grain foods possibly helps one to feel full. To include extra whole foods in the diet, you will have to change your meals. Hopefully, that will help you to achieve your goals.
